Conference Description:
The 12th Annual Crime Prevention Conference returns to its original format for 2019! Please join the Montana Board of Crime Control for this important event. The two-day conference will be held October 8-9 and post-conference training October 10-11. Registration includes all conference sessions, lunches both days, and post-conference training (excluding Restorative Practices). A track for Law Enforcement Officers only will be available both days.

Presenting the October 8th luncheon keynote on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Mary Beth Long is an American foreign policy expert, entrepreneur, and former U.S. Government official. From 2007-2009, Long served as the first woman confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Assistant Secretary of Defense, and led the International Security Affairs office in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She was also the first woman to be approved as Chair of NATO's High Level Group (HLG), the highest-level responsible for NATO's nuclear policy.

Presenting the October 9th luncheon keynote on Traumatic Brain Injury and Criminal Justice, Dr. Kim Gorgens is a Clinical Professor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver. She teaches the Psychophysiology and Clinical Neuropsychology sequence at the doctoral level, manages a portfolio of research, and has lectured extensively on those issues (including a 2010 TED talk on youth sports concussion, a 2019 TED talk on brain injuries in criminal justice, several NPR spots and an interview on CNN with Anderson Cooper). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology and is board certified in Rehabilitation Psychology.

The MBCC Lifetime Achievement Award and the Innovative Community Improvement Award will be presented at 8:00am, October 9.

Post conference training, October 10-11, includes Sex Trafficking Investigations (LEO Only), Adult Mental Health First Aid, Subgrantee Workshop, and Restorative Practices.
