The Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council (MGIAC) will meet on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Montana State Library in Helena, MT. Meeting attendance will also be available on Zoom.

The Council will consider action on the following:

·         Executive summary from a previous meeting

·         MGIA Council Bylaws

·         2024 Council Meeting Dates

·         Montana Geospatial Data Standards Workflow

The council will discuss and receive updates on the following:

·         Montana Imagery Repository

·         GIS Enterprise Architecture

·         MAGIP Report

·         MGIA Grant Report

·         GIS Coordinator’s Report

Members of the public who wish to share public comments on an agenda item or matter that is within the jurisdiction of the Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council may submit the comment by March 11th at noon here: https://forms.office.com/g/BmC10CWCtQ. Comments may also be submitted in person or on Zoom during the meeting.

 

The Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council was established by statute through the Montana Geospatial Information Act with the purpose of advising the state library on geospatial information systems, geographic information and geospatial technologies; prioritization of geospatial information development priorities, reviewing the geospatial information plan,  provide recommendations for a geospatial information granting process; promote coordination of programs, policies, technologies and resources; advocate for development of consistent polices, standards and guidelines for geographic information systems, geospatial information, and geospatial technologies.. Members of the Council represent state agencies, county or municipal governments, federal government, private business, tribal government interests, Montana university system, Montana association of GIS Professionals, and Montana association of registered land surveyors.
