(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library (MSL) Commission will meet in Helena and on Zoom on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Gertrude Buckhous Conference Room at the Montana State Library. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Acting-Chair Peggy Taylor of Whitefish, Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Carmen Cuthbertson of Kalispell, Tammy Hall of Bozeman, and Robyn Scribner of Geraldine. The Commissioner of Higher Education appointee is currently vacant.

The Commission will receive reports and updates about the State Library, Legislative Session, State Library Awareness Campaign, and Network Advisory Council. The commission will discuss the Montana Library Association Conversations with the Commission session, Strategic Framework measures of success, and Next Generation 9-1-1 at the State Library.  The Commission will consider action on the Continuing Education Study recommendations, Federations Study recommendations, Federations Fiscal Year 2024 Plans of Service, and the consent agenda. The commission will discuss their leadership nominations, Administrative Rules task force appointment, Commission bylaws review next steps, and Roberts Rules training and certification next steps.

Members of the public who wish to share written comments or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than two (2) business days before the start of the public meetings.
