(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library (MSL) Commission will meet in Helena and on Zoom on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Gertrude Buckhous Conference Room at the Montana State Library. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Acting-Chair Peggy Taylor of Whitefish, Elsie Arntzen - Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Carmen Cuthbertson of Kalispell, Tammy Hall of Bozeman, Brian Rossmann - Commissioner of Higher Education Appointee, and Robyn Scribner of Geraldine.

The Commission will receive reports and updates about the State Library and the Administrative Rules review process. They will have presentations and discussions about the Anaconda-Deer Lodge MGIA Grant award, new Talking Books policies, Montana’s public libraries’ governing structure, Federation study next steps, State procurement overview and MSL contracts, State remote work time management, and House Bill 234 overview. The Commission will consider action on the drafts of minutes from previous meetings and Commission leadership elections.

Members of the public who wish to share written comments or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp (jstapp2@mt.gov), no later than two (2) business days before the start of the public meetings.
