(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library (MSL) Commission will meet in Helena and on Zoom on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be in the Montana State Library Conference Room. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Chair Dalton Johnson from Missoula, Vice Chair Peggy Taylor of Whitefish, Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Patricia Dubosky, Commissioner of Higher Education Appointee; Tammy Hall of Bozeman, and Robyn Scribner of Geraldine.

The Commission will consider action on the consent agenda. The Commission will receive reviews, updates, and reports about the State Library, Montana Memory Project teacher exhibits, Library Federation Study Task Force, Natural Heritage Program’s access to information, State Library Legislative Session, and Network Advisory Council. The Commission will review the Commission bylaws, Conference Room Policy, and Library Trust Policy.

MSL will hold their Legislative Night in the Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5-7 pm. No business will be conducted. Library Legislative Night is hosted in partnership with the Montana Library Association and the Trust for Montana Libraries.

The Commission will attend a Continuing Education seminar with Ashley Kent from the Local Government Center, Montana State University on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The seminar will be held at the Montana State Library Conference Room, 1201 11th Avenue, Helena. No business will be conducted.

Members of the public who wish to share written comment or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than two (2) business days before the start of the public meetings.
