The Montana State Library Commission will meet in Missoula and online on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 9:30 am. The meeting will be held in the Copper Room at the Missoula Public Library in conjunction with the 2022 Montana Library Association Tri-Library Conference. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Chair Kenning Arlitsch, appointee of the commissioner of Higher Education; Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Tammy Hall of Bozeman, Dalton Johnson of Missoula, Kristin Kerr of Helena, Robyn Scribner of Geraldine, and Peggy Taylor of Whitefish.

 

The commissioners will meet for dinner at The Camino in Missoula on August 2, 2022 at 7 pm. No business will be conducted.

 

During the August 3rd meeting, the Commission will consider action on the consent agenda, the Excellent Library Services Award Resolution, the Virtual Programming Policy, the Freedom to Read statement, and the Rebrand Subcommittee recommendation.  The Commission will receive updates and reports about the Director’s Institute, the Digital Equity Act, and the State Library.

 

While in Missoula, the Commission will be hosting a session at the Tri-Library Conference called “Conversations with the Commission” on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in the Montana Board Room at the Downtown Holiday Inn. This event is open to registered attendees of the Tri-Conference, and no business will be conducted.

 

Members of the public who wish to share written comment or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than 24 hours before the start of the public meeting.
