(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library (MSL) Commission will meet in Helena and on Zoom on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be at the Montana State Capitol, Room 152. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Chair Dalton Johnson from Missoula, Vice Chair Peggy Taylor of Whitefish, Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Patricia Dubosky, Commissioner of Higher Education Appointee; Tammy Hall of Bozeman, and Robyn Scribner of Geraldine.

The Commission will consider action on the consent agenda, Montana Land Information Act Legislative Update, Natural Resources Information Advisory Committee Update, e-Resources Collection Development Policy, MSL Awareness External Campaign contract, MLIA FY22-23 Biennium Legislative Report, FY24 Montana Land Information Plan, Network Advisory Council member nominations, and 2023 Commission meeting dates. The Commission will participate in an Executive Session to conduct the State Librarian’s evaluation. The Commission will receive reviews, updates, and reports about the State Library, Montana Memory Project teacher exhibits, Newsline Media Sources, HotSpot Program, Broadband Pay Plan, State Library Legislative Session, and the Talking Books service contract.

New Commissioner Orientation for Commissioners Patricia Dubosky and Tom Burnett will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 3:30 pm at 2023 8th Avenue in Helena. No business will be conducted.

MSL will hold an Open House in the new State Library location on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 5-6 pm at 1201 11th Avenue in Helena. No business will be conducted.

The Commission will attend a Continuing Education seminar with Dan Clark from the Local Government Center, Montana State University on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 9:30 am. The seminar will be held at the Montana State Library Conference Room, 1201 11th Avenue, Helena. No business will be conducted.

Members of the public who wish to share written comment or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than 24 hours before the start of the public meeting.
