The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is hosting an open house meeting to discuss with the public a proposed roadway project to reconstruct approximately 10.5-miles of Whitetail Road (Secondary Highway 399) in Jefferson County. The “South of Boulder-South” project is split between two segments of roadway. The open house will be held in Boulder on Wednesday, June 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Jefferson High School cafeteria (312 S. Main St.). Project team members will be available during the open house to discuss the project and its anticipated construction in 2020. The purpose of the “South of Boulder-South” project is to decrease the amount of maintenance required by Jefferson County and to bring the road to current design standards, which will improve the safety of the roadway. Construction of the project is slated to begin in the spring of 2020. The meeting is open to the public and attendance is encouraged.
