November 14, 2018 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lori Ryan, Public Information Officer, (406) 444-6821, lryan@mt.gov Montana Department of Transportation Schedules Open House to Discuss 27th Street Railroad Crossing in Billings BILLINGS — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is conducting an open house public meeting to discuss a feasibility study to determine short-term and long-term solutions for the existing at-grade railroad crossing on 27th Street in downtown Billings. The open house will be held in Billings on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Billings Public Library Community Room (510 N. Broadway). The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation of the project. After the presentation, the public is invited to visit project displays, ask questions and provide comments on the project. Project team members will be available during the open house to discuss the project. The detailed feasibility study will consider, at minimum, traffic operational and engineering analysis, safety, railroad coordination, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, Americans With Disabilities Act needs, environmental issues, geometric considerations, right-of-way, utilities, stakeholder input, and impacts to adjacent buildings and businesses.
