The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is hosting an open house to discuss the proposed Conley Avenue Bridge project in Deer Lodge. The open house will be held in Deer Lodge from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, in the Powell County Community Center (416 Cottonwood Avenue). Project team members will be available to discuss the project.Proposed work includes removing the existing bridge and constructing a new bridge. The roadway approaches will also be reconstructed as needed to connect to the new structure. The purpose of the project is to replace the deteriorating bridge and maintain the existing public access to the west side of the river. Rehabilitation is not practical due to the advanced deterioration of the bridge. The project is currently in the initial design stage.
