Montana Historical Society Archives staff will share excerpts from letters written to or by Montana Soldiers. The letters, taken from the archival collections and dating from the Civil War to the Persian Gulf War, span the emotional gamut from humorous to heart breaking—loss to reunion. With minimal interpretation, the presentation lets the words and sentiments of military personnel and their loved ones tell the story of war and home front. Attendees are encouraged to bring letters from their families to share.
