Baseball takes a team effort to win. The same is true with writing this book. It took a team effort to complete Butte's Copper League. The captain of our team and the driving force behind the book was Jim Sullvan. He spent countless hours researching games, players and statistics for this book. Sullivan had some help with research from Jim Hanley and Gus Janhunen. All three were memebers of the 1949 Butte American Legion baseball team that won the state championship. All three spent many summer nights playing in the Copper League.

Emmett Cronnelly was a fan at many of those games. He was a longtime manager at Artcraft Printers. He volunteered his time to layout the book and photos. Pat Kerney is the chairman of the Butte Sports Hall of Fame committee. Kearney has written and published four books on Butte's history. He wrote the manuscript for Butte's Copper League.
