Montana Capitol Restoration Foundation presents the 2015 Souvenir Ornament: Lewis and Clark Meeting Indians at Ross' Hole.

As the  title suggests, the painting depicts an encounter between Thomas Jefferson's Cops of Discovery and the Salish Indians who, in September 1805, provided the explorers with the horses they needed to cross over the Bitterroot Mountains before winter snows halted their progress.
